This is where things get a bit unique. I actually engaged a colourist, Bry, for the work on Immortal. But as part of the agreement I also have to do some basic colouring myself.
For those who are more familiar with this subject: this is NOT “flatting” – that is professional work requiring professional-level skill, which is not what is happening here.
Also, if i have the skills and knowledge, this step will be where colour theory comes into play: how to make use of colours to convey messages, invoke emotions etc… that is also not happening here.
I’m just.. putting down some colours. Hopefully in the future all the good stuff I mentioned above will happen.
Additionally, this is for full colour comics. Black and white manga runs off a different set of logic, and when I have thoughts about it I will make a post too!
